My name is Joan, Last year I belonged to a group of caregivers on line and I
think the site was by a man named John. I can't remember what it was!
My husband( now ex) was in a car accident May 16 1995. I was 2 months pregnant
at the time. I came upon the accident after he had been airlifted to the
hospital. He had a frontal lobe injury and was in a coma.
I was never prepared for the drastic change in him. No one warned me. I had no
computer to get all the info. available now. The supportive, loving, most
romantic man you could ever meet was gone. To this day I have nightmares about
the accident and I am suffering more emotionally than he is.
After 3 years of dealing with this new person, he decided he didn't love me and
wanted a divorce. That was in May. Since then he has said he wanted
me back 2 times now and then out of nowhere changes his mind. No one really
thinks about how the loved one of the injured party is traumatized by the
accident. He is happy and going on with his life as if nothing happened.I on the
other hand live with the accident daily. I have lost my soul mate.
Appreciate what you have because one day it may be taken away. The one thing
holding me together is our beautiful daughter. At least God let me have a
rememberance of the love we once had.
Thanks for letting me share my feelings,
Joan Trubica
